Little G and Months Times Three!

Our household's smallest resident turned 3 months old two days ago! I say "small' only in relative terms though because this child weighs in at a whopping 15 pounds and 4 ounces. He has more than doubled his birth weight already(breastmilk for the win)! I cannot imagine him at the 7 pound, 3 ounce package he was back in January.

Aside from the fact that he's chubbin' up, he's maturing in other ways too. He's been smiling and cooing like crazy for some time now and last week he giggled!! There is nothing like that very first baby giggle. He has great head control and he can prop himself up on his elbows during tummy time. He has found his hands and folds them together, stares at them, and sucks on his fingers. He appears to be enamored with his brother and the feeling is definitely mutual. He's super-tolerant of Caleb's kisses, pokes, and prods. I look forward to the day when the two of them can play together.

He's becoming less fussy as he gets older and he's getting into a semi-rhythm as far as napping goes during the day. So far, so good with sleeping at night. Thanks to sleep-sharing, I barely even notice when he awakens to nurse.

This new little being fits perfectly into our family. It's already difficult for me to imagine what it was like before he came about. What did I do with all that time I must have had before!? Oh wait, I lamented that I didn't have enough time for anything. Interesting how that works, isn't it?

A Baby no More?

Caleb turned 20 months three days ago. Wow! Time certainly flies and it's so hard to believe that this child will be 2 years old in a mere four months. He's quickly outgrowing his 18 month old clothing but I refuse to purchase new winter clothes. So come on spring! Hopefully this warm weather will stick around and I can do some clothes shopping for my little man. I'll be buying clothes in a size 2T. Seriously?!

Anywho, it's crazy to think that this time last year Caleb wasn't walking, giving kisses, or requesting his favorite snack. Now, he's running, constantly kissing his baby brother on the head, and frequently asking for "pret-zahs." So while babyhood may be behind him, I have a hunch that he's not quite ready to toss out the status. See proof below.
